Schutt extends his hands, crisscrossed with scars and jewelry. Schutt got the scars after surviving an avalanche accident in Summer of 2021, in which he was swept up, tumbled hundreds of feet and was trapped under the snow for an extended period of time.

Schutt plans on using this spoon to make a ring for his grandmother. He visualizes that the spoon’s stem will curve around the finger with the image of Hawaii sitting on top.

Schutt saws off the tip of the spoon, using a vice to hold it in place. Generally, he measures how much of the stem he wants to take off as this will determine the size of the ring.

Schutt’s workbench is littered with the many of the tools he uses to transform ordinary silverware into pieces of jewelry. He’s still working on getting a set of protective eyewear.

His face pinched with effort, Schutt struggles with a ring bender. Outside of some additional polishing, this is the final step of the process.

Peters Schutt rests his hands on a workbench. Soon enough, the intact spoons and knives on the bench will be morphed into rings similar to the ones on Schutt’s hands.

Peter Schutt zooms through his neighborhood amid fall colors. It brings him a sense of accomplishment to learn new tricks and he’s currently working on 180s over curbs.
